A SOUTHEND band has been working hard and will be releasing a limited edition vinyl single.
Plastic Youth will be releasing the double A-side single called Death Row and Animal Style this Saturday.
The group of four have been recording their singles with the Verve’s Nick McCabe heading up the production of them.
The tracks will be released on ex-Libertines drummer Gary Powell’s record label ‘25 Hour Convenience Store’.
The four musicians came up with their name after a conversation about how youngsters aren’t experiencing life and sitting at computers to socialise with friends.
Bassist and singer James Higgs, 25, said working with Nick McCabe had been a great experience.

Richard: The band was formed about two and a half years ago. And we just wrote around in garages and lounges like people do. On the Dole, surviving on the Dole for a year. "How I got to go on an American tour with the Verve was an unlikely combination of circumstances.
Following the falling out of Richard Ashcroft and Verve guitarist Nick McCabe, I got a call from Richard asking me to join the band for their upcoming American tour. I was flattered but confused. Why me? There must be dozens of great rock guitarists who could do the job. Picking a Pedal Steel guitarist with psychedelic pretensions was, to put it mildly, lateral thinking.
It turned out that Richard's wife, Kate Radley loved the work I had done on the Spiritualized album 'Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space'. Her former partner Jason Pierce, being the leader of that group.

"Just to give some more detail I was asked to play in John Hartson's match in aid of his cancer charity.I was an OK player about twenty five years ago,never in a million years good enough to play professionally.It's a great buzz to play alongside some of the greats.After about ten minutes I received a proper verbal rant from someone,Gary Speed came up to me and within a second he put me at ease & gave me some choice words that i could use if it happened again.I left straight after the game but for weeks later I was reflecting on how classy and perceptive Gary had been.It was a charity match and I was a forty year old musician,what the fuck do they expect.It took him
